Our law firm is seeking a talented and driven lawyer with 0 to 3 years of relevant experience who is passionate about FDI and related EU regulatory matters and is keen to grow in a dynamic and supportive environment. About the team 

At Liedekerke, our EU, Competition Law & Foreign Direct Investment team provides strategic legal advice and representation to a diverse range of clients. We handle cases in foreign direct investment, competition law (restrictive practices, merger control, state aid), and broader European legal matters. Our lawyers work collaboratively to tackle complex and high-profile cases that shape industries and markets. Your profile

 We are looking for a lawyer who is: 

  • A lawyer with 0 to 3 years of experience in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) screening, EU regulatory law, or closely related fields, with a solid understanding of EU and Belgian regulatory frameworks and policies. The firm’s work includes advising on FDI screening procedures, coordinating multi-jurisdictional filings, and assessing regulatory risks linked to foreign investments. You may also be called upon to assist in matters of general EU law and, where relevant, in proceedings before the Courts of the European Union.
  • Fluent in Dutch, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English is essential, and knowledge of French is an asset.
  • Completed a solid academic track in law at a Belgian university.
  • Analytical: you have a sharp legal mind and a proven ability to analyse complex regulatory and legal issues.
  • Driven: you are motivated to further develop your expertise in FDI and EU regulatory matters and to build strong client relationships.
  • Team-oriented: you enjoy working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment and contributing to shared goals.
